Saving the World in Style

...and I'm still working on the jacket. I started working on this thing weeks ago, in hopes I wouldn't be working to the last minute. Well, it looks like I'll be working to the last minute -- despite my best efforts.

Zippers are in -- sleeves and the front of the jacket. I have to admit that I celebrated a bit when I retired the zipper foot for this project. I've now moved on to sleeves, collar, and waistband. I got the sleeves together tonight...only to discover that they'll need to be tapered a bit more than the pattern provided for. This, of course, after I run out to Walmart at 8:00 PM on the Sunday night before the first day of school. Hah. Anyway... After some other mishaps with the feed dogs and some tangled thread, I decided to pack it in for the day. Attempts at the sleeves, collar, and waistband will just have to wait until I have the patience to deal with them again. If they're not done tomorrow, I'm going to have to resort to plan D -- beg my MIL to help.

Maybe I'll call in dead on Wednesday and spend the day communing with my Kenmore. ;)
