AD/MM Fic Reccs
Dec. 4th, 2004 10:59 pmBecause the subject came up in conversation just a little while ago, some fics I'd reccommend for anyone needing a Dumbledore/McGonagall fix:
Ariana Black
Follow the Rules
Alchemine
(A story arc, to be read in order. Not entirely AD/MM, but good nonetheless.)
Unreachable
Ties That Bind
June Week
The Shadowchasers
Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc
Cadey
Resistance**
Freelancer
Let It Snow
Go Fish
1945
Valor's Minion
Rogue Inker
To Catch a Lady's Favor
Of all the above, I think Cadey's Resistance is definitely a must-read -- just a personal fave. Alchemine's stuff is dark -- but always well-written. Ariana and Freelancer have those twisted senses of humor that just fit so well. And everytime I re-read rogue's story, I keep thinking of Evie in The Mummy, but I love seeing Minerva play hard-to-get. ::grin:: All-in-all, I'd say they have a pretty good handle on the characters.
Two other authors you can check out as well are Sirabella and Jestana. I'm getting lazy at this hour, so I don't have links to the stories. Sirabella's biggie is "When We've Been There Ten Thousand Years" -- a little confusing, so you might need to read it twice (or very slowly). She's started part two. Jestana has gone back and "re-written" the HP books/films through Minerva's POV.
If that's still not enough, you can check out http://www.infinite-incantatem.net, home of the HMS Infinite Incantatem -- the Dumbledore/McGonagall 'ship (AKA HMS Frivolous Felines on Fiction Alley). And then there's my stuff, which is on my webpage at http://members.cox.net/beccaramsey/ under "PotterFic".
Happy reading!
