Week from Hell continues.

Just before lunch yesterday, the entire office complex lost power -- hardcore. There was the distinct aroma of fried electronics, and thirty seconds later, the fire alarm was activated. We evacuated to the courtyard and stood out there for an hour before the all-clear was finally given. Came back, and not everyone had power, and the network was completely toast. The office didn't regain full power again until late in the evening, well after we had all left around 3. I stuck around until 3:30, when I finally decided to go and get my contractor ID. Getting onto post was an adventure that, with traffic and confusion, took two hours. Got in, got the ID thing done, only to arrive home and discover that the damned thing was in my MAIDEN name. Argh. Idiot looked at the wrong spot on the form when he was putting in information. I mean... was it not CLEAR what my last name is by the Social Security card and Drivers' License? SO... after all that fiasco yesterday, I have to go BACK later this week or next and get the damned thing redone.

On the way home from post last night, the check engine light flared up on the Jeep again. Sick of dealing with it -- and needing the emissions inspection done anyway -- I decided to take it to the dealership this morning. Got there bright and early at 7 AM. Checked in by 7:10. Was told I might be out of there by 8 AM. Finally spoke with someone again around 8:45. Turns out the O2 sensor is shot so, in addition to the emissions testing I have to have *that* replaced...which meant that the car will be ready some time this afternoon. Had the dealership take me over to the Enterprise rental location, only to realize that I left my credit card at home! The lady at Enterprise called the dealership, and the dealership issued a purchase order and will add the rental onto my bill. Thankfully, the sensor is covered under warranty. The rest... That's me. By the time I got the car, went back for my parking pass from the Jeep, went to the house to get my credit card, and got to work, it was already 10:30. ::sigh:: I just can't win this week.

I wish I could just crawl back into bed and not move till the weekend.
