andverygingerFor anyone interested ( ::cough::Cap::cough::), there are still rooms to be had near the convention. I would advice a quick decision, however, as they are likely to sell out as soon as people realize there are only about 3 months left before the con.
Days Inn Atlanta Downtown, 1 King, No Smoking - $139/night.
[I think this is one of the overflow hotels for the con. You've been warned! ;) ]
Westin Peachtree, 1 King, 2 Doubles, or 1 Queen - $189/night. $180/night if you pay in advance. [This? Is an awesome hotel. It's the tall, round building you see driving on 85 @ the Grady Curve, and would be a little out of the insanity of the con...one of the reasons we're at the Amerisuites. But the beds are to die for. Seriously.]
Best Western Granada @ Midtown
1 Queen Suite, $145/$145/$122 (Best Rate).
1 King, $123/$123/$103 (Best Rate).
2 Queens, $159/$159/$139 (Standard Rate).
[This one isn't right at the con, but it's right across the street from MARTA, so easy access to Peachtree Center.]
Wyndham Garden Atlanta
1 King - $129 (Best Available).
2 Doubles - $139/$139/$129.
[Approx. 3 blocks from con. Never stayed here, but the reviews seem to be decent. And Expedia rates are actually cheaper for once, running at about $116/night. Webrates -- paid in full at time of reservation -- are cheaper.]
Anyway... Just a few places for anyone contemplating the trip (::cough::Cap::cough::). You can also check the Dragon*Con website for some of the overflow hotels, which don't appear to be fully booked. Yet.
ETA: And if you don't mind the travel time, you could also look for hotels near Lenox Mall (Buckhead) or Perimeter Mall. Staying at Perimeter might require taxi service later in the evenings from the MARTA station.
