Progress... Sort of.
Jul. 15th, 2013 07:40 pmI finally got the shipment of goodies from home, and I'm working up the nerve to finally start construction on the bodysuits for Valkyrie and Black Widow. I hesitate because I know that, with a few more weeks left to work in the gym, I can make a real difference -- my arms are coming along nicely, so I know the waistline is next. The hips... eh, they're usually the last to be impacted by any activity, unfortunately. I was a total slacker this weekend, though, so I'm really looking forward to getting back to the reformer tomorrow.
Since I'm hesitating on the final bodysuit construction, I've at least been working on the accessories for the various costumes. I finished Clint's shooting glove; modified Clint's holster; shaped Valkyrie's half-gauntlets and shoulder discs; and pulled together a workable version of Black Widow's belt and belt keepers. I still need to smooth and paint Val's armor, and finish the last bit of Tasha's holster rig, but I'm pretty happy with what I've accomplished. I also need to motivate DH to help out with the cutting and sanding of the dowel rods for his arrows. What's Hawkeye without some ammo, right?
Tomorrow, I'm hoping to do a little paint testing, and get a layer of wood glue over my worbla samples. I don't have much time to screw up, so I figured it would be better if I didn't screw up the final armor. I'm thinking I may also start on Val's bodysuit later this week...whenever I happen to be feeling a bit more optimistic. =) She'll really be a decent trial run for the final Black Widow bodysuit.
