Nov. 30th, 2005 10:09 amToday is the day for the
bsg_ficathon and I'm not quite finished. I tried typing up the notes I had last night into a cohesive story and it was slow going -- partially because I wrote in this strange outline-like, stream-of-consciousness format by hand, and partially because I had people IMing me, trying to talk to me, and just being distracting in general. The result was that I got only about half a page typed up. Meh.
I've also gotta find a way to end this thing. Watching sappy romance movies the past few days hasn't helped; I've recently watched Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and Laws of Attraction. One was bittersweet, and somewhat fitting the A/R dynamic, the other was just goofy fluff. The combination of the two had me imagining a specific ending to the fic, and I think it's too melodramatic. ::sigh:: If anyone of the A/R writing crew are online later who wouldn't mind hashing this out with me a bit, I would appreciate the input. I'm trying not to get too carried away, but I don't want the story to drag on forever, ya know? Oh, and last-minute beta services would be appreciated if anyone has the time...after, of course, I get this @#$% thing written.
Other than that, things are somewhat slow at work at the moment. I've gotten drafts done for some of the things I've been working on, and am merely waiting for comments. I think I may adopt
actemero's idea and start counting the days until Christmas vacation. Where are we at now? Seventeen working days; twenty-four days overall. I'm really looking forward to this trip. Not having all the leave time is gonna suck, but it should be soooo worth it. Now if only I'd had that much time at Thanksgiving. Would have made a nice visit home.
