Annnnnd...cut!
Mar. 1st, 2004 12:34 amWell, it's 12:34 AM, and I've called it quits on the draft of my paper at 24 pages. I was probably -- technically -- supposed to have 30 - 40 pages. To me, however, considering the paper is only supposed to be 25 pages when it's done, I don't see the need in going so far over. Especially when I know this is a draft and I'm far from finished. The conclusion is weak, the research is incomplete, and the commentary on the history of power projection (re: Hamilton and then re: Roosevelt and the Great White Fleet) isn't done yet, either. I'm also trying to hunt down a full copy of "Sea Power 21," the course the CNO laid out for the 21st century Navy. Fleshing out these last three trouble spots, polishing up the grammar and such -- will all go a long way in getting me toward my goal.
::sigh::
24 pages in two days. Ugh. I sooo need a Starbucks.
And sleep.
I have to admit that I called it quits a couple of hours ago, when I got sucked into the Oscars. I know, I know. I shouldn't have. But I hit a brick wall in writing, so I just flopped onto the sofa...and then didn't move for two hours. Bad girl. Ah well. Got to watch LOTR sweep all 11 categories. I was glad to see them do it. After being fairly well snubbed for the last two movies, it was nice to see them go out with one last hurrah. I was actually rooting for Johnny Depp or Bill Murray to win best actor, but I guess the academy was starting to feel sorry for Sean Penn. He had, after all, adopted the Susan Lucci-effect: always a nominee, never a winner.
Anyway, off to bed. Early morning tomorrow...savvy? ;)
